For commissioned pieces, the copyright remains with the artist, Romona Sandon, unless the copyright for the artwork is signed over to the person or company who commissioned it.
Copyright and Original Works of Art
Buying an original painting, assumes that you buy the physical object to have and enjoy. You own the artwork, not the copyright to it.
The copyright remains with Romona Sandon unless:
- They specifically signed over their copyright to the buyer.
- The copyright has expired.
Unless one of these circumstances applies, the original piece buyer does not automatically acquire the right to reproduce a painting as prints, cards, posters, clothing, merchandise etc, when they purchase a painting or design - you are acquiring the right to own and enjoy the item, not the right to reproduce it.
This contract is governed by the laws of Australia and such other laws which are applicable in the country where the consumer is resident.
Processing and Delivery
Please keep in mind that the delivery times we give you are estimates only. The actual delivery time will have many contributing factors. Please see our Shipping Policy for more information.
We may occasionally provide special offers and promotions waiving delivery charges in certain circumstances. We reserve the right to vary, cancel or extend special offers and promotions regarding delivery charges.
Large value Items and Insurance
Our parcels are covered for the first AU$100. Signature on Delivery is required on items valued above $500 and extra cover can be purchased - please see our Shipping Policy for more information.
Import Duties and Taxes
We no longer ship outside of Australia due to increased international tariffs and compliance cost. If your order is forwarded by a third party and shipped outside Australia, we assume that you’re aware of any import duties or taxes that may apply in the country your order is being shipped to. Romona Sandon Art & Design will not be responsible for the payment of any such costs, nor will we be responsible for replacing goods that may be seized by customs in your country. Order cancellations and returns
Please choose carefully, as we do not accept returns if you simply change your mind. If there is a fault with the product, we will happily exchange or replace your item. If the damage occurs in transit, we will investigate your specific situation and ensure we work towards an appropriate solution with the shipping provider.
