FAQs
How will my products arrive?
All artwork A4 and smaller will come with a rigid backing and in a protective flat box. Any larger prints will be rolled into a strong tube mailer. This is the best way to keep your artwork safe. Large framed originals or canvas works will only be available for local pickup at this stage I’m afraid, but I may work something out in the future. EDIT: Stretched Canvas is only available Australia-wide. It will be sent rolled for International orders.
How long will it take to get my stuff?
Processing time is estimated at around 5-10 business days as most works are printed to order. Please consider that I work from my home studio with no support staff and need to complete all tasks of my businesses myself. I also rely on my local printer to produce all of my fine art prints, so sometimes this can affect processing time. Romona Sandon Art & Design is only part-time for me, sharing my time with my building design and architectural work as well as family and kids. Postage times will depend on the method of postage. Once the item is listed as sent, the delivery times are out of my hands. Please see the tracking information of the logistics company once the parcel has been sent, e.g. Australia Post, DHL, UPS, etc. For more information, please read my Shipping Policy.
How long will it take to get my Product Shop merchandise?
All merch is print-on-demand at this time, therefore it is created and shipped from an outside manufacturer in Melbourne, Australia. This means it is not available for local pickup unless a larger order has been placed directly through contact with me. Please allow 2-3 weeks for p&h.
What are you doing to minimise the environmental impacts of your store?
For postage, I needed to balance the protection of my customer’s products and sustainability. I use gallery quality backing boards (700gsm) made from thick boxboard material that is 100% post-consumer waste recycled fibre and FSC certified. Our rigid flat mailers and tubes contain recycled fibre and are recyclable. I reuse where possible. My business cards are made from recycled cotton pulp from t-shirt waste. The clear sleeves are premium, strong 47-micron polypropylene. These bags are NOT part of the plastic bag ban and can be reused, repurposed or recycled (at your local REDCycle drop off point). I am constantly looking at ways to cut irresponsible products out of my supply chain and will continue to improve as the business grows.
What is the difference between the original, fine art prints and poster prints?
All of my Art prints are classified as fine art prints. Archival quality light-fast inks have been used on giclee quality 240-300gsm cotton rag with a texture similar to the watercolour or smooth paper used for the original image. My poster prints are still using light-fast inks but on a lower weight 160gsm matte coated stock bond paper. Many prints sold on webpages do not use lightfast ink or quality paper and you should always check this with the artist before making a large purchase. Every effort has been made to make the artist quality prints have the same colour and impact as the original work.
Why can't I get free postage?
As a new small business, my postage costs are governed by the logistics companies I use. As I grow as a business and increase my sales, I will hopefully be able to offer cheaper (or free domestic) shipping. If you are in the Bassendean area of Perth, Western Australia, you have the option of selecting local pickup to avoid postage costs. EDIT: I now offer free domestic shipping for orders over $150.
Please contact me if you have any other questions about my work. Thanks!
